Questions About CSS Gradients

Everything you need to know about creating, customizing and exporting gradients for your web projects.

What is a gradient generator?

A gradient generator is an interactive design tool that lets you visually create and customize CSS gradients (linear, radial, conic), adjust color stops, change angles and copy ready-to-use CSS or Tailwind CSS code.

How do I add or remove color stops?

Click the 'Add stop' button to insert a new color stop in the gradient. To remove a stop, click the 'X' button next to the stop's color input. A minimum of two stops is required to maintain a valid gradient.

Can I export the gradient as an image?

Yes, you can download your custom gradient as a high-resolution PNG image (1920x1080) by clicking the download icon in the top-right corner of the gradient preview.

What types of gradients can I create?

The generator supports Linear gradients (flowing in a straight line at a custom angle), Radial gradients (radiating outwards from the center) and Conic gradients (sweeping around a center point).

Can I copy Tailwind CSS code directly?

Yes, the generator generates Tailwind CSS arbitrary value classes (e.g., bg-[linear-gradient(...)]) that you can copy and paste directly into your projects to style elements easily.

How do I adjust the gradient angle?

For linear and conic gradients, you can change the angle by entering a value between 0 and 360 degrees in the 'Angle' input field. Radial gradients do not require an angle as they radiate circularly.

Are the gradient presets free to use?

Yes! All gradient presets provided are completely free to use in both personal and commercial projects. Click on any preset to quickly load it as a starting point.

How do I change the position of a color stop?

You can use the range slider next to each color stop to adjust its position from 0% to 100%. Alternatively, you can use the color picker to select any color you like.
